Purpose of the role:
The Materials Controller is required to effectively place orders and ensure 100% availability of product to produce finished goods to meet customer orders using an ERP system as well bespoke systems.
The role involves:
Identifying and establishing root cause of stock inaccuracies and resolutions within the business and recommending measurable actions for improvement to exceed 96% targeted stock level accuracy.
Identifying issues using ‘5 Whys’ methodology to prevent stock loss and creating a more effective material flow that will improve efficiencies.
Establishing and formalising a robust perpetual inventory system to reduce inventory across all areas of Operations.
Liaising with Finance regarding aged stock to identify a strategy to effectively remove obsolete stock so that efficiencies are made.
Monitoring the efficiency of stock moving through the business, providing monthly reports by commodity and group to Supply Chain in order to improve stock turns.
Training and educating the organisation in effective stock management so that capability increases across the organisation.

Intermediate/advanced spreadsheet skills (Pivot tables/SQL querying).
An understanding of a manufacturing operation including stores. Good knowledge of Sage Line 1000 or another ERP system and Power BI.
Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a manufacturing environment or similar.
