Operations Director

We have an exciting new opportunity for an exceptionally talented Operations Director to deliver profitable growth in line with business plans, through inspirational leadership & effective change management; working collaboratively with other Business Leaders to deliver a culture change to individual ownership, engagement and continuous improvement.

You will be responsible for developing the function to operate with a customer-service mentality to provide a reliable, consistent manufacturing function and to maintain a reliable & effective Operations service to internal & external customers.

Key Accountabilities :

To deliver profitable growth in line with Company goals and strategies.

To meet Company and statutory standards for safety, quality, environment and employment so that risk is effectively managed.

To lead and develop the Operations teams so that the Company’s performance and cultural goals are met.

To challenge the business to improve & innovate and to develop & deliver sustainable improvements within own function so that the business effectively manages uncertainty and change.

To bring intelligence into the business in terms of benchmarking, innovation, and competition so that the drive for continuous improvement is managed in an effective and targeted way.

To contribute to the development of Company strategies and to develop & deliver functional strategies and plans so that short and long-term business goals are achieved.

To deliver product in full to customer required dates at the expected quality on a daily basis.

To establish a late shift from a cold start.

Your experience and expertise :

Essential -

Demonstrated record of improving key operational metrics (Principally OTIF, cost, quality, productivity and H&S) in both favourable and unfavourable economic conditions.

Ability to work effectively with peers and deliver cross-functional collaboration.

Experience of leading and consistently delivering manufacturing performance (with a style of engaging with the workforce to inspire, motivate and develop discretionary effort)

Expertise with LEAN and Six Sigma within manufacturing.

Strong record of people development in both direct and indirect reports.

Delivery against statutory and company standards/regulations.

Familiarity with the operations of Supply Chain, Engineering and Distribution (weighting of 70% manufacturing to other disciplines).

Desirable -

Engaging presentation skills.

Strong customer orientation.

Demonstrated ability to identify & apply relevant manufacturing innovations and practices.

Technical degree.
