Mid Century Modern
Rediscover the Charms of this Delightful Trend

Remember the kitchens in our grandparents’ homes? For those of us in our 30s-50s, they often featured charming elements like fluted glass door units, a freestanding cooker, possibly a Belfast sink, and almost definitely a built-in larder cupboard. These nostalgic touches are making a stylish comeback, inspired by the timeless appeal of Mid Century Modern design.
Trends are born from everything we see in the pop culture world around us. Films such as ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ and ‘Asteroid City’, and TV shows such as ‘The Marvellous Mrs Maisel’ are fuelling the resurgence of 50s, 60s and 70s aesthetics. While we may not see the return of freestanding mismatch units and curtains on sink cupboards, the essence of these decades is subtly influencing today’s trends.
Greens, warm woods, and fluted accents are becoming trendy once again. The fitted kitchen is evolving, blending seamlessly with the rest of the home, with kitchen unit doors matching the colour or woodgrain finish of elements in other spaces. As open plan living is now the norm, this allows interior designers or homeowners to match their furniture and décor to kitchen style and vice versa.
At PRMF, we’re embracing the revival of this trend and have a number of Mid Century Modern style products available. Explore our selection of greens (F28 Reed Green, M20 Heritage Green), and woodgrains (D07/F33 Grey Bardolino Oak, F35 Dark Grey Fineline, H28 Natural Sheffield Acacia, H43 White Halifax Oak, J33 Anthracite Abano Ash). And that’s not all – watch this space for more Mid Century Modern products coming later this year.
