Driving Change Together: PRM’s Collaborative Approach to Sustainability

Building understanding across our supply chain

At PRM, sustainability isn’t something we approach in isolation, it’s something we build in partnership with our supply chain.

Over recent weeks, we’ve been engaging with our partners through a series of sessions focused on carbon reduction, climate resilience, and our journey to net zero. These conversations have covered our approach to CO₂e reduction, our Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitments, and importantly, the role our partners play in helping us achieve them.

Creating space for collaboration

What’s stood out most is the dynamic within the group. Bringing together organisations from different sectors, many of whom wouldn’t typically interact, has created an open and constructive environment.

Rather than competition, there’s been a shared understanding that while each organisation is at a different stage, many are facing similar challenges. That has led to honest conversations, strong engagement, and a real willingness to share experiences and insights.

Looking beyond carbon

Alongside carbon reduction, we’ve also been exploring broader themes such as climate resilience, product innovation, and health and safety.

Discussions around topics like silica-free materials highlight the importance of considering the social aspects of ESG, alongside environmental performance. It reinforces the need for a balanced approach when assessing the impact of products and materials.

Enabling informed decision-making

Transparency has been a key theme throughout. Tools like Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) are becoming increasingly important, not as a measure of whether a product is “good” or “bad”, but as a way of providing consistent data to support informed, whole-life decision-making.

The challenge, and opportunity, lies in how that data is interpreted and applied.

A journey we’re building together

Ultimately, progress depends on collaboration.

Whether it’s reducing carbon, improving resilience, or making better-informed choices, the conversations we’ve started are a strong step forward. The engagement so far shows there is real appetite to work together and share knowledge.

This isn’t about competition; it’s about collective progress.

And we’re just getting started.
